HP LaserJet 4100

The HP LaserJet 4100 is an excellent machine for anyone needing a black-and-white laser printer for their small office. If you already own this printer and are just looking for some pointers on how to replace your unit’s fuser, check out this video on Youtube. Remember these specifications and these directions for the fuser will work with all the compatible models too, like the 4100n, 4100tn and 4100mfp.

There are definitely more positive reviews than negative ones for this particular machine. All around people seem to really like it. Not only does it have a compact size of 15.4×21.2×18.4 inches, but it also has white exterior that people find to be an excellent fit in small offices no matter the color scheme. The thing that people don’t really like though is its heavy weight. It weighs nearly 53 pounds, which is somewhat heavy for a standard small office printer. It comes with both duplex support and PostScript support. You can also connect your computer to your printer via parallel or ethernet support. The wired connectivity does limit those who want wireless printing.

As far as speeds go, this unit is decent, printing out 25 pages every minute. The processor is 250 MHZ, and there are both curved and straight paper paths. Up to 1100 sheets of paper can fit in the input trays, and the automatic document feeder can hold at least 100 sheets of paper. Envelopes, transparencies, plain paper, labels and cards are all supported. Sizes of letter, legal, executive and A5 are also supported. The RAM installed upon purchase is 32 MB, but that can be upgraded at any time to 256 MB of RAM. The monthly duty cycle of 150,000 pages every month makes it seem like a good fit for large offices, but the slower-than-average speeds hold it back from being truly efficient in that setting
